About — A Scholar's Retreat

Dar Rass El Maa embodies a love for learning and culture. Founded by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abu-Talib, a pioneer of English studies in Morocco and a key figure in Morocco's academic landscape, this house still resonates with his intellectual legacy, warm hospitality, and poetic spirit.

Encircled by the timeless beauty of Chefchaouen's unique blend of Andalusian and Northern Moroccan heritage and the Rif Mountains, this guesthouse offers more than accommodation—it is an immersion into history, intellect, and peaceful contemplation.

Double Room

Our two Double Rooms offer a cozy retreat with a double bed, private bathroom and air conditioning. Lalla Brigit comes with a bathtub, while Sidi Omar features a sitting area.

Junior Suite

Our two Junior Suites feature a double bed, a separate seating area with an extra bed, a private bathroom and air conditioning, and views of the medina (Chaouen) or the Rif Mountains (Rass El Maa).

Senior Suite

Our Senior Suite Sidi Mohammed comes with a double bed and private bathroom, and an additional room with two beds and a large sitting area. It is located in the traditional Petit Ryad.

Dar Rass El Maa is located at the edge of Chefchaouen's historic medina, just steps away from Ras El Maa spring. Public parking is conveniently located 300 meters away. You can reach Chefchaouen from the north (Tétouan) or the south (Ouazzane) by bus or car.
